This poem is called ‘Treasure’ and it was written by Ron Carnell. He wrote it for his best friend Angela many years ago and it goes like this:

It’s so hard to find the perfect breeze,
One blowing none too hard nor soft,
Carrying a scent of wild flowers,
And moving clouds about aloft.

It’s so hard to find the perfect sky,
One blue and deep and bright,
Carrying sense of openness,
With geese and wrens in flight.

It’s so hard to find the perfect night,
One warm, quiet and unflawed,
Carrying a mood of solitude,
And a closeness to our God.

Yet no perfection’s so hard to find,
As that which you extend,
And none I’ll ever treasure more,
than to simply be your friend.

Friendship can be a difficult concept to fully grasp, but I think that largely because we don’t put enough emphasis on it’s importance.We experience a lot of different relationships in our lives. But none, I think, are any more important than when two people come together as Best Friends.

Best friends

One hand in mine, my hand in thine,
We walk through life’s stark shadow,
Two as one and one combine,
To fight the night’s dark battle.

My strength to thee, and thine to mine,
Our fervor never fallow,
Two friends are one by co-design
To face our common morrow.

I pledge my trust, thy trust is mine,
Through life’s deep joy and sorrow,

And love to all our friends.

This is the same way I feel for friends even if I have never met them before.
So everyone in this world has a friend, doesn’t matter to who, there is always someone who will be there for you!
