This year the CSIRO came to visit our school. The first one introduced us to science where we done fruit batteries and other experiments.
The second one was about natural disaster. Jason(the guy from CSIRO) told us all about natural disasters. Boy, i really learnt a lot of new things and words that day. Did you know that Australiua is in the middle of a tectonic plate? And that’s why it has no active volcano’s in it.
Have you ever wondered why they call tidal waves Tsunami? Well that’s because all waves and tidal.
Did you know that there is a big difference between a natural disaster and a natural occurunce?
A natural occurance is something that happens but does not affect anyone. But a Natural disaster harms a lot of people!!
If you are wondering what CSIRO stands for, It stands for Commenwealth
Scientific
Industry
Research
Organisation
There is also a & sign somwhere-Do you know in betweeen what words it’s in?

Hi Momtahina,

What a great post, it’s really interesting.
The & sign is it between the industry and organisation. I think they call Tsunamis, Tidal Waves because the tide changes quickly, before the wave attacks.
What words did you learn ?
